Senior photos should feel like you.
When you're looking for a Philadelphia senior photographer, you want more than a collection of pretty portraits. You want senior photos that capture your personality, your style, the things you love and the people who have been part of your journey.
That is exactly what made Claire’s Villa Maria Academy senior session at Valley Forge Park so much fun.
We incorporated her dog, her love of softball, multiple outfits, cap and gown portraits, and even a family session. By exploring different areas throughout the park, we created a senior gallery that felt varied, natural and completely personal to her.

Why Valley Forge Is One of My Favorite Locations for Senior Photos
Valley Forge senior photos are a favorite for a reason.
Located just outside Philadelphia, Valley Forge Park offers so much variety for a senior photography session. Instead of photographing an entire session in one spot, we can move through different areas of the park to create a gallery with multiple looks and backgrounds.
For this session, we explored several locations throughout Valley Forge, giving each outfit its own feel.
The open landscapes created beautiful, timeless portraits, while the trees and natural surroundings gave us a softer, more relaxed look. Moving around the park also helped the session feel like an experience rather than simply standing in one place taking photos.
For seniors in Chester County, Montgomery County and the Philadelphia area, Valley Forge is an especially convenient location that still gives your photos that elevated, editorial feel.

Multiple Outfits = More Variety
If you're wondering what to wear for senior photos, my biggest recommendation is to bring options!
Claire brought: Jeans with two different tops, Two dresses, Cap and gown
That gave us several completely different looks throughout the session.
The jeans outfits created a more casual, everyday feel. The dresses gave us more polished and editorial portraits. And the cap and gown documented one of the biggest milestones of senior year. If you don’t have your cap and gown yet, and you probably don’t, no worries- I have a client closet full of cap and gown options from most schools in Chester County and Montgomery County!
You don't have to choose between casual and dressed-up senior photos. With multiple outfits, you can have both.
And if you're investing in professional senior photography, having variety in your gallery means you'll have plenty of images to choose from for graduation announcements, gifts, social media, albums and prints.

Bring the Things That Make You, You
One of my favorite things about being a Philadelphia senior photographer is helping seniors figure out how to make their session personal.
You don't have to bring a complicated list of props. Instead, think about the things that tell your story.
For this Villa Maria Academy senior, that included her softball glove and, of course, her dog.
We incorporated her dog into some adorable senior portraits and used her softball glove to create images connected to an activity that has been part of her high school experience.
These little details can make such a difference.
Whether you're a competitive athlete, a dancer, musician, artist, theater student, book lover or simply someone with a few things you absolutely love, those details belong in your senior photos.
Your session should document who you are now, not just what you look like.
Add Your Family to Your Senior Photography Session
Senior year is exciting for the person graduating, but it is a huge milestone for the entire family.
This family decided to add a family session to their senior photography experience.
It was the perfect opportunity to capture updated family portraits while everyone was already together, dressed up and at a beautiful location.
I especially love this option for parents because the senior session becomes more than just an individual portrait experience. You also walk away with photographs of the people who have supported your senior throughout the years.
And let's be honest, getting everyone together for professional family photos can be a challenge. If everyone is already there for senior photos, why not make the most of it?

Senior Photos That Tell Your Story
The best senior galleries aren't 50 versions of the exact same portrait.
They have variety.
There are classic portraits, candid moments, different outfits, photos with friends and family, images that showcase hobbies and activities, and a few photographs that feel a little more editorial.
That's what makes senior photos different from a traditional yearbook picture.
For seniors in Wayne, Malvern, West Chester, Phoenixville, Royersford, Chester County and Montgomery County, there are so many opportunities to create a session that feels completely personal.
And for families searching for a Philadelphia senior photographer or a senior photographer on the Main Line, Valley Forge is one of the locations I love for creating a polished but relaxed senior experience.
